Surgery and Injury Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation is the restoration of physical form and function to normal daily activities. Musculoskeletal wear and tear, surgeries and injuries can all have an immediate or significant impact on one’s day to day quality of life and physical function. Whether the situation is an acute sporting or workplace injury or a chronic wear and tear injury an individual experiences or is likely to experience pain and limitations in their everyday functioning. This could be simply due to ageing, a chronic health condition or a major injuries or traumas, either way a recovery plan and set of interventions is needed. “Rehabilitation enables individuals of all ages to maintain or return to their daily life activities, fulfill meaningful life roles and maximize their quality of life.

All services must be based on best practice principles and before any exercise physiology treatment begins, a thorough patient consultation and assessment is to be performed to ascertain the client’s current health status and needs. If the client is suitable for exercise physiology treatment and relying on the client’s feedback to identify the areas that require attention, the therapist can then apply the relevant and appropriate treatment.
